This is the poem from the movie of the same name Invictus with Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon.

In my humble opinion, it is a must see movie.
Invictus - William Ernest Henley
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
William Ernest Henley
I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. I have an unfortunate association in my head between that poem and Timothy McVeigh.
On further review, this is a poem of a man who embraces his freedom to choose, and is unafraid of his lack of freedom to not choose. I like that.

yes I have similar mental connections.
I can not watch anything with Nicolas Cage in it... ;-D
Good to see you Douglas.
