This morning Bill Bennett had Kate O’Beirne of National Review Online on his show mostly discussing the Sam Alito Supreme Court Judicial Court confirmation hearings that are getting under way.

O’Beirne recently wrote a piece  that outlines her dream speech that she would have a Republican senator give regarding the myth that people like Senator Dianne Feinstein actually represent all women when it comes to the issue of abortion and other “womens” issues.

She goes on to argue…

A 2003 poll by the Center for the Advancement of Women, headed by Faye Wattleton, an ally of Senator Feinstein's from her days as the celebrated president of Planned Parenthood, found that 51 percent of women would only allow abortion in cases of rape or incest or to save the life of the mother. Another 17 percent of women wanted to see abortions more widely available than that, but with more restrictions. So, that survey found 68 percent of women disagreeing with Senator Feinstein's position on abortion.

Abortion increases suicide risk

Yes Yes, I know in the world of politics statistics can be used to say whatever you wnat them to say.

What is the old line, "There are lies, damn lies and statistics"?

But even with that being said if you really take a look at the questions used when surveying a population and you pay attention to the biases of the organization taking the survey or doing the research, you may be able to glean some powerful insight from the research.

I think this study is a study that casts a light on such information.  The study shows a link to increase risk in suicide for women that have had abortions.  While I'm sure this is not the entire story, it is again another piece in the puzzle of information showing the destructive nature of abortion.
